ABOUT THE COMPOSER/SINGER
The sages say “Commitment, hard work and
perseverance shall always sail one through in as much as one wants to work in
order to succeed in life”; these have always been the words of Redfyah. Only
Jah enskins Kings otherwise he were nobody in relation to where he is coming
from. Humility has been with him since that is why Jah is doing in according to
His word, humble yourself and God will raise you.
Abudu Kurabaso Seidu a.k.a Ras Krizz the
Redfyah was born on August 27th 1975 about 3:30pm in the Northern part of Ghana.
He is the last of two siblings. At the tender age of one, his father, the then
Paramount Chief of Gonja Kingdom passed away. As a result of that he grew up
together with his brother in the hands of a single parent and his story unfolds.
Dreams are sacred to those whom they are meant for as the transition of the old
Man didn’t alter the dream in anyway but rather challenged the good things in
him to grow fast with more values and the will to make it work.
Education is the best legacy one can
bequeath his children. Never forgetting
the importance of education, he started his primary education at Bole Roman
Catholic School. At that tender age Redfyah started writing numbers and
letters, drawing simple pictures to tell stories. Redfyah having completed the early
stage of life where he had acquired basic writing skills, he continued at St. Kizito’s
J.H.S. While in school, he had passion and zeal for art so he never wasted his
time on unnecessary things when there was no teacher. He used the time
judiciously to draw things in the environment to explain some basic concepts in
various subjects. His teacher found out that he had an inbuilt artistic skill.
Coincidentally, his elder brother was an outstanding artist. He contributed a
lot to make him develop his talent by encouraging him and providing him basic
art accoutrements judging from his aptness and deftly handiwork. He admired
nature, he also had a dream to become a professional artist. He has no shred or
modicum of regret for choosing this career in that he sees it as a right
direction to develop his innate and in born skill.
Currently, he owns a big art studio in
Techiman, Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana. Redfyah has always emphasized that, his
decision to choose art as a career is one of the successful steps he has taken
in life.
Redfyah was enrolled in Damongo Senior High
School. He offered Science. In the course of his High School education as a
science student, he met one of his teachers called Ras Ajingo. Ras Ajingo was a
Rastafarian rendering his national service. He treated with utmost contempt the
ignoble thoughts, feelings and actions of Rastafarianism. Redfyah was the class
captain then. He was obliged to serve his people with due dilligence. In the
course of service to Ras Ajingo, Redfyah realized that Rastafarianism was a way
of life and had nothing to do with the perception people had for Rasta men. As
a result, he developed passion for Rastafarianism. He heightened and
accentuated the fever with much audience to reggae songs from Bob Marley,
Burning Spear, Peter Tosh, Buju Banton, Luciano, Culture and other popular
Rastafarians. He performed popular songs like One Love, Addis Ababa, Destiny
and One Stone to arouse his fans’ enthusiasm during school’s entertainment programmes.
Redfyah’s passion for reggae can’t be
explained by words. It has become his soul’s food. Gradually reggae became a
favorite music genre on campus as one of the “popular” guys on campus has tried
to erase some of the negative perceptions held by society.
Furthermore, he is a reggae Dj at Jerryson
FM 99.9 a renowned radio station in the Brong Ahafo Region. In view of his
performance, he has Ghanaian reggae friends like Shasha Marley, Rocky Dawuni,
Blakk Rasta, Sheriff Ghali and others. He has been invited on countless
occasions to do live shows with the stars mentioned above. He has featured for
several reggae artists in their albums including Kriss Jomah’s Just to Test Waters.
Redfyah is a professional artist. He has also developped
a passion for music. He has for the past years contributed his quota to the music
industry. He is ready to share his God–given talent with the world in his own
uniqueness as his first album entitled “CITY OF GOLD” is in the offing. It will
be full of melodious Vibes and Fire Works.
Watch Out For Him.
